Character Plays A Taxi Dancer
Many future film stars got their start during the infancy of live television. Grace was no exception. On the CBS anthology series “Suspense,” Grace is the lead in an episode entitled “Fifty Beautiful Girls.” In this installment, she plays a taxi dancer who is the newest target of a serial killer. Taxi dancers were women employed by a dance hall, café, or cabaret to dance with patrons who pay an amount for each dance. This serial killer has been murdering other working girls in her profession and lets it be known she will be his next victim. She receives a bouquet of roses, which the three previous victims had received. Soon, the killer’s modus operandi of sending letters and threatening phone calls begins. How does she outsmart this killer? No one knows, as clips of her performance have never surfaced after its original broadcast.
